Hi Bill, - First let me say this is not my thread, it is OUR thread. Comp. sales, (comparison store sales), and same store sales mean the same. For purposes of comparing apples to apples, retailers report their sales figures overall, and then they also compare the sales of stores that have been open for more than one year, as an indicator of how those stores, (open for more than one year), have done. If a company has opened, say 10 new stores this year, it would be unfair to compare today's sales figures with the sales for the company last year , when they had 10 fewer stores open.
