>>Why do we need "analysists"???<<I read somewhere there's a good reason why analysts downgrade a stock that drops sharply, like ORCL did yesterday. Supposedly, when the stock price performance of the analyst's recommendations is figured, if an analyst downgrades a stock like ORCL BEFORE the stock opens down, he is credited with the previous day's closing price. So it makes a lot of sense for analysts to downgrade these stocks for bragging rights, etc. The analysts have a shrewder system than the APM stock-picking contest (at least they look better, even if they can't pick any better). -LK
