11/29/13 Contest Update
Further gains were stuffed into biotechie portfolios over Thanksgiving week and biotech bears continued to look like turkeys.
Propelled once again by a seeming unlimited supply of booster rockets, the Contest median closed Friday up 66.21% YTD (vs. up 59.94% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index gain was a bit less lofty, finishing up 63.54% YTD (vs. up 61.09% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was also higher for the week and is now up 34.46% YTD (vs. up 32.20% YTD a week ago).
RKRW’s portfolio put on another stellar show, closing Friday with a 164.65% YTD gain. Second place ROBO’s portfolio also continued its torrid ascent, closing up 138.35% YTD as did third place GHMM’s portfolio, now up 123.52% YTD.
At Friday's close, 36 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 22 of the 39 beating the NBI.
