If you are considering rule changes to once a week, can I suggest people can trade once a week but on any day Monday through Friday, but it gets processed on the Friday. Not sure why you want Friday trading only, but it makes it hard to deal with earnings and other specific events. Lost count number of times I wanted to close a short but couldn't because it was the wrong day of week, or that no trading was allowed at that time. Yep some stocks are volatile.
