My health insurance premium will actually be less on the new state exchange.
Currently pay $617.54/mo for BCBS insurance on myself.
Platinum BCBS plan on the state exchange is priced @ $582.79/mo for 2014.

I suspect like you, at some point the medicare age will be raised. I see continued grid lock for 4-5 years, so nothing will be done for awhile. Then I would suspect some type of sliding or tiered transfer to a higher medicare age threshold, like SS.
....If you were born before such and such a date you are eligible for medicare at age.....?
