" I do get my information from sources with different, often opposing, biases"

I do too. But it does not make us any different. Several people on the right and left do this too- and just like us they manage to disregard information they don't like. We still know what our opinions are, and once we've made an opinion choice we rarely change. And we believe what we believe because of who we are, not so much because of the evidence- and that's the way it is with most people. Really, when you come right down to it, unless you've got a math question where their really is a "right" answer- the answer has more to do with "Who are you?" and "How do you want the world to be?" than anything else. And whether you are left, right or center, you answer questions the same way. Right and left may be more consistent in their platforms (or easier to categorize) but that's the only difference I can see.
