How many years of research are behind Thorium?
Actually, quite a few. The original "Atomic Bomber" used one of the first Molten Salt Reactors (the same kind being promoted and envisioned for Thorium) and then, when that program was shut down, the research continued with building a working prototype MSR that ran for some 7,000 hours.

We were at a real paradigm shift there with MSRs in the late '60's, from what I've read.. But we had other priorities.. namely the production of Plutonium ,which is reportedly not easy to do in a MSR.

The R&D is pretty much done.. And we understand how the physics work. We just have to have the will to take from Prototype to Commercial reality.

I would really love to see LENR work. I'd be crazy NOT to want it work..

And the best marketing plan for LENR would be assisted tremendously by a working prototype where energy input and output can be objectively measured.

Until then, it's just a dream waiting to be manifested into reality..
