Several licensees have aircraft window products. The trend now with aircraft manufacturers is to go with the "electronic dimmable window" or EDW. Several of these have been developed by large Tier 1 suppliers to the industry. The first such foray into installing EDWs was in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Since then most of the new EDWs now on the market are made with SPD-Smartglass technology. But because of the properties of the SPD particle, another innovation just recently debuted at the recent NBAA Convention, where new technologies and aircraft are introduced to prospective buyers of aircraft.
