Salomon Smith Barney just initiated coverage of Foodmaker with an outperform rating. Finally someone on the street with clout agrees with me that this company is undervalued! This should help nudge us up a bit.

FM also settled a class-action lawsuit, of which I have heard nothing about (every large company has a handful of lawsuits going on at any one time):

>>SAN DIEGO, Dec 9 - Foodmaker Inc said Tuesday that it has reached a settlement of a lawsuit filed against it by people with mobility disabilities on the issue of full accessibility in its Jack in the Box restaurants.

Under terms of the class-action settlement reached with the plaintiffs' lawyers, the company said it will continue to make improvements to more than 800 Jack in the Box restaurants so that facilities are fully accessible to people with disabilities.

Foodmaker said the settlement has received preliminary approval from Chief Judge Thelton Henderson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. A final approval hearing is set for February 1998.<<

Not to make light of the plaintiff's difficulties, but if I couldn't get an Oreo Cookie Shake whenever I felt like it, I'd sue too! ;-)
