Oracle unveiled the following new Java development and deployment software that is scheduled to either ship or enter beta release this month for Windows NT and Unix: Oracle(R) Applications Release 10.7 NCA, a thin-client Java enabled suite of enterprise resource planning applications; Oracle Lite 3.0, a new mobile Java database for thin-client applications, a new integrated development environment for building and debugging Java software, code named Project Valhalla; two new JDBC drivers for Oracle database access; and the Oracle Application Server 4.0 deployment platform. Combined they will offer customers an integrated enterprise-caliber solution to quickly build and deploy Java-based network computing applications.

Oracle Applications Release 10.7 NCA: This new suite will Java-enable
all of Oracle's enterprise resource planning applications to manage financial, manufacturing, human resources, and sales and marketing operations. Based on Network Computing Architecture, the new suite has been in extensive beta testing since July and is scheduled to ship to customers this month. The new suite will allow customers to unify their software platform and reduce the traditionally high costs of enterprise software management, upgrades and training. <<<
