Jesus was just a failed Jewish Messiah that Paul and the rest of the disciples turned into a stand-alone religion. Just as Joseph Smith was a failed Jesus sequel until Brigham Young dragged a bunch of his followers to Utah and established a religion under a remote police state, where they wouldn't hear any conflicting views.
