It's cuz the night of the first inauguration, a meeting of the AAOWG decided they would go out of their way to block everything, and made even being seen in the presence of Obama a failure in the litmus test of purity.
I guess you forgot about all the protesters along the inauguration parade holding up signs saying, "Not MY President!"

That never happened at Obama's inauguration because (a) conservatives have more class, even Tea Partiers, and (b) those protesters would have immediately been branded as racists.
