Rob:

The Asian countries will face severe credit crunch; many will declare bankruptcy; their costs of capital will increase; IMF is charging 18% on bridge loans and urging the Central Banks to hike interest rates.

This means that the government subsidy to the computer/chips/parts manufacturers will stop and the dumping they have done in the US will stop. They have to raise prices of chips, DDs, etc. to simply stay afloat because their governments can no longer be allowed by IMF to subsidize.

Companies depending on sales to Asia will languish. But, the ones who faced severe price pressure (like DD/chip makers) because of dumping will gain ground a lot. I think the WS is mistakenly branding the entire tech sector in the same group.
