We haven't had a nice hard sell like this in a while. (that is, without something like the clowns in Washington pounding their chests causing it) We were due for a day like this. We could easily see a few more days like this to get the bears all frothy and to get everyone and their brother to call "this is THE top"....We've been due for a retrace. Today's action almost completely wipes out the last month's worth of gains, all the way back to Nov 14th..... Could be the start of a correction phase, off the move from the Oct lows. As I posted on another thread, I won't get bearish unless we get solidly below 174.5 on the SPY. Even there, I would need to see other things conspire against the market before I turn long term bearish. We saw the one pause midday, short lived, where it hit an "expected" area of support. Only worth a minor bounce and then the hard sell into the close. Tomorrow will be real interesting. I was looking at a number of charts and there a plenty of stocks that hit relatively important short term support areas. Let's see if we get a bounce tomorrow?
