I had a card compromised, which is telling since I pretty much use my cards only for tax deductible purchases, and the occasional online purchase. Cash for everything else. In any case my card company caught it really fast. Have no idea how my card was compromised or how they found out but nothing happened to me, they just terminated that card and gave me another.

What these credit protectors should do, I think, is send a text message 10 minutes after each purchase.
