Market share matters "very little."
I have been arguing that point for at least a couple of years now.

Market share by itself doesn't matter. It matters because it usually translates to bigger profits, more brand loyalty or dependency on a platform or many other things. None of these things have really transpired on the Android side. AND, that is with the assumption that Android is one platform which is a false assumption. It is not only fragmented by company but also by version of Android.

Nice to see the article you posted because it may represent the beginning of a "waking up".
