Paul, It appears that Intel will NOT come out with a 266 PMMX, and will battle the low-end desktop with 200/233 PMMX until some sort of low-end PII (cachless, integrated functions on Slot 1 chipset, etc.) comes out by mid-1998. Seems like a good strategy since it quickens the conversion to PII. I think the 233MMX should be able to compete well against a K6-233, and thanks to AMD yield problems, a K6-266 wont be ready in volume for a few more months, and by that time, the PII/233/266 should be down enough in price to compete well against it. It seems that Intel has all bases covered. Any comments??
