RUMOR ALERT: Someone has posted the following messages to the Yahoo NM and VVTV message boards - messages.yahoo.com@m2.yahoo.com messages.yahoo.com@m2.yahoo.com suggesting a possible merger between ValueVision (http://www.vvtv.com) and National Media (http://www.quantumtv.com). It's still firmly in the totally unsubtantiated rumor category as far as I'm concerned, but I will take whatever is to be had (any thoughts by the long-gone Todd would be appreciated). Of note is that both VVTV and NM have entered into deals with PAXON Communications recently (http://www.pax.net). Perhaps some sort of 3-way deal? Both are trading around the same price per share. Any comments? --John
