......called my new Health Care provider today asking where is my new insurance ID card. I paid first Jan premium over a month ago. Now, they tell me it will be sent out first week of Jan. So....I go thru the roof and ask to speak to supervisor. I recount how I was told in no uncertain terms that I'd have my card by Jan 1. I'm told they are sorry for the misinformation. I say misinformation bullshit......it's LIES. Then I'm told the cards will go out in the last week of Dec and first week in Jan.....another lie on top of lies........ I ask why I should believe this since I've been lied to before. No meaningful response. I then ask to verify my payment was received. After about 3 minutes, she comes back and says yes.....I ask how much did I remit and on what date.......she could not tell me. Then she says she will furnish me with an ID number that my doctor's office can call in to verify my policy after the doctor's appointment. I say go ahead and I will write it down............she says she does not have the ID number yet but will call me when it becomes available. I ask what she will do to see that it becomes available? She says she can do nothing but wait until it appears in my file. It is absolutely clear that I will NOT have a valid insurance card for my Jan 3 doctor's appointment. I also doubt I will have a ID number to substitute. I'll call my doctor's office Monday to see how they will handle this. If I were them.....no way would I accept anything short of a valid ID card. Just as a reminder......I did some research.....I applied EARLY.......I paid EARLY......in anticipation of potential problems.......it doesn't matter......the level of incompetence overwhelms everything...........can you imagine the millions come January that have to go thru the federal HealthCare.gov site. It has to be exponentially worse........and the Republican House just voted to .fund this nightmare for two more years...................it's over folks.........we're finished.
