The only valid comparison is to give the debt accumulated by each president as a percent of GDP. Also, the Obama number is wrong, because it includes the fiscal year 2008 debt, which should be assigned to the second Bush term.

Plus when you do that sort of exercise, you also have to look at the numbers/percentage that the administration began with. Conditions are almost always baked in, it is nearly impossible to turn them around in a year or two. Especially if you start in a period with extreme conditions (good or bad extreme conditions). Context is everything.
