Unfortunately voting like that in a popular election might disenfranchise people. Can you imagine one vote per dollar of US assets? By the time the billionaires got done voting there would be no point for anyone else to vote. Even millionaires would have a very limited effect on any such election. Those who fail to accumulate any assets would literally have no voice.

Even I am not sure I would want to rely on the largess of the super rich to keep from becoming a kleptocracy.

It might be an interesting experiment to run elsewhere though.

It is likely that giving them a larger voice would have some positive impact on economic freedom. MAybe they could elect the Senators in such a way. It would become more like the original House of Lords.
