Since you're having a hard time comprehending the food stamp budget, try this analogy..

Say your job pays a 60K salary. You go to your boss and ask for a raise to 70K. The boss says "OK, I'll give you a raise, but only to 62K". So according to your understanding, that would amount to an 8K wage cut.

I wouldn't call that left wing psychobabble. I'd call it disingenuous spin that's an abuse of the English language and a total disconnect from reality. So do try, if possible, to grasp the fact that a reduction in an increase is not a cut..
