I think the progressives have been sweeping the table, save for wresting money from the oligarchs- and no one wants to do that, because we get the politicians money can buy. If the progressives want to do anything about the unfairness in this country, they have to find a way to get around the oligarchs. It's that simple. It's not simple to fix, though. Take any issue- education, GMOs, fracking, drugs, it's all about the moneyed interests who don't give a shit about what's good for the people of this country. Cure the oligarchs, and we might have a shot at curing our problems. Let them become even more entrenched, and we're screwed.
