Buddy:

Following is the complete scoop on the "Extreme Machines" powerboat
racing television show:

Mercury Marine's powerboat racing heritage will be prominently
displayed in an upcoming 'Extreme Machines' television show to air
December 15 on 'The Learning Channel.' The one hour program entitled
'Powerboats' reviews powerboat racing and Mercury Marine's dominance of
the sport. The program documents activities at Mercury's Lake X, the
world's premier freshwater test facility, including Mercury Marine
engine development and race boat testing. Historical footage of the
Lake includes a 50,000 mile endurance run held in 1957. Current Lake X
test footage includes Stuart Hayim's Open class race boat 'Mercury
Racing,' a 46-foot Skater catamaran powered by twin MerCruiser Class 1
race engines coupled to MerCruiser 'dry-sump' Six Drives. A segment on
Formula 1 tunnel boat racing highlights Bill Seebold's 'Bud Light' race
team powered by Mercury Formula 1 race outboards. The show also
includes segments on Unlimited hydroplane racing and trans-Atlantic
offshore speed records, U.I.M. Formula 1 racing, U.I.M. Offshore racing
and a visit with Reggie Fountain at Fountain Powerboats. A repeat of
the show will air December 21. See your local TV guide for air times.
