Top tax bracket is at 60%. What's the VAT (sales tax) over there? Around 20%? What's the cost of gasoline? $9.00 a gallon or thereabouts? And that's on top of their income taxes.. The EU is an expensive place to live (or visit). The locals are not only taxed to death, but their cost of living is sky high as well. Their cradle to grave welfare states certainly ain't free..
