Everyone who finds solace in having a small exposure to S Asia, misses a big point. This is where the huge margin supporting GROWTH was supposed to come from. And now it won't materialize. For years. If it ever does depends upon whether the Asians have learned an important lesson: if they are ever entrusted with large amounts of capital again, don't spend it on marble and gold encrusted skyscrapers and Swiss retirement accounts for cronies and relatives. Invest it in the products and services provided by TLABS and other tech companies as US companies have for the past 10 years and who are now reaping the amazing rewards.

It comes down to the question, can the intelligent and hard working Asian people overcome the greed, arrogance and stupidity of their ruling class. If they can, TLABs and other companies will prosper beyond anyone's wildest dream. If not, well Europe will continue to muddle along with 2% growth, US with 2-4%, and S. America - who the hell knows.

I'm rooting for the Asians but hedging my bets.
