25Mb DVCPRO is 4:1:1. The 50Mb version, whenever available, will be 4:2:2. The real advantage of DVCPRO for the broadcaster isn't in compression economy or image quality; it's in 4X real-time transfer from the camera to Panasonic's Newsbyte editor and back to tape for play to air. In other words, it solves the digitizing bottleneck problem.

Listen to us - 4:1:1, 4:2:2, M-JPEG, MPEG-2 - you'd almost think we knew what we were talking about!!!!
