SAN DIEGO, Dec. 19, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LRAD Corporation (Nasdaq:LRAD), the world's leading provider of long range acoustic hailing devices (AHDs), today announced the receipt of international follow-on orders for the LRAD 500X and accessories totaling over $660,000 that are scheduled to ship by March 31, 2014 to two member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the Middle East.
"These follow on orders reflect the continued value that the Gulf Cooperation Council members see in the LRAD 500X, that allows for intelligible mass communication and effective public safety and crowd management," noted Tom Brown, President and CEO of LRAD Corporation. "The 500X units in these orders will be securely mounted to public safety vehicles, providing for mobility and fast response when and where needed for communication."
Using proprietary technology and innovative designs, LRAD systems generate highly intelligible voice broadcasts from 300 meters to over 3.5 kilometers, providing public safety personnel with the ability to issue authoritative and readily understandable voice communications and warning tones that safely establish standoff zones, de-escalate tense situations, and save lives on both sides of the Long Range Acoustic Device(R). Due to its extended frequency range, LRAD ensures voice communications in any language are clearly heard and understood over crowd and traffic noise, and inside buildings and vehicles.
