Precisely so. When I started this series UVXY was around 22, and as of this morning pre-market is a little under 18, so am roughly at breakeven, going to be short at 20 with 2.05 premiums written. The combination of weeklies, half-point strikes, and high (percentage-wise) premiums has managed so far to salvage the situation.

They call the VIX the volatility index. Somewhat of a misnomer as it seems to spike up only on big down days, but goes down on big up days! The big taper rally on Wednesday dropped it a couple of points.
