I went into the Post Office here, and they are selling merchandise - Christmas cards, ornaments, wrapping paper, gift bags. Not a lot mind you (there weren't rows and rows of stuff, just a freestanding kiosk display, Hallmark I think.)

Now I wonder how long before department stores sue the Federal government for unfair competition. I think I remember businesses suing prison systems for competitively bidding on contracts with their labor force. Maybe if the Post Office were to issue common stock, . . .
