OT: Every day I hit the top of hill on a 5 lane freeway 1/2 mile before my exit. I hit it at 50 to 55mph in the slow lane with my blinker on and coast. During that last half mile I get about 1000 mpg. Sometimes people get behind me and honk and blink their lights. I ignore them. Who am I? The guy who has to teach them to pass on a 5 lane freeway?

The smarter ones turn their wheel and accelerate past me. I usually end up at the stop sign or stop light just behind them, occasionally I actually pass them as they are stuck in a line, and I'm in the other lane. I'm still coasting fast enough into the exit curve that I have to use my brakes. They save maybe... no seconds.

He he. I enjoy annoying people who have not learned how to use a steering wheel. As one gets older these kinds of chances for enjoyment decrease.

Every day I hit the top of this hill (805 N) headed for the interchange to the 8 East. The ramp is about 30 ft off the ground. Two lanes merge into one lane on a steep sharp curve. The speed limit on the curve is 55mph. Many yuppies think its a good place to make up time... passing at 70 or 75mph where two lanes turn into one lane. Lots of cars have tumbled off the ramp 30 ft to the ground and ended up a twisted hunks of sharp steel, broken glass and bleeding trapped upside down human flesh.

I hit the top of the hill at 50 in the slow lane with my blinker on and coast, again getting about 1000 mpg. The slow lane of the ramp is always less crowded so I pass cars even though I have to brake because if you don't brake you hit the ramp at 70, no gas needed. The yuppies regularly accelerate down the hill then slam on their brakes. It would be funny except people stop and rubberneck at the bleeding humans stuck in their twisted hunks of steel. That creates annoying traffic jams. I hate that.
