Turner Broadcasting System's CNN, CNN Headline News, TBS Superstation and TNT; Disney's ESPN and ESPN2; and MTV Networks' VH-1 and Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite to Offer TV-Based Interactivity as Part of Regular Programming
ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Wink Communications today dramatically expanded its roster of Enhanced Broadcasting partners as the cable programming leaders in news, sports, music and entertainment all announced pacts with the Alameda, California Enhanced Broadcasting company. The networks will add Wink-based interactive elements to regular broadcasts that can be viewed using standard analog and digital cable set-top boxes and television sets with Wink inside.
Turner Broadcasting System Inc.'s CNN, CNN Headline News, TBS Superstation and TNT, Disney's ESPN and ESPN2, and MTV Networks' Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite and VH-1 have all signed Enhanced Broadcasting deals with Wink Communications. Additional terms of the deals were not disclosed. Wink is the worldwide standard for Enhanced Broadcasting that allows TV networks, producers and advertisers to enhance broadcast television with interactive overlays and special information channels that are tied to regular broadcasts.
