As expected, human mental processes are more similar to apes than to groups which separated from humans more generations ago.

Well the study & appreciation of this marvelous compelling view & all the associated exquisite intuitions are not true , if one succeded to exclude teaching evolutionary biological science in classroom.

Why be human, why be curious, why explore & attempt to expand that comprehension this long vast continuum of change & adaptation of life under a cold timeless moon & massive firey sun giant, going back to a time we all may have gazed up at once from the vantage of secure nests in some forest tree top? We were that once, some primate child clinging to our mother in some ancient forest top.

Would seem an aweful waste of the mind space, but look how the process goes on undaunted, the questions are asked, the intuitions assemble around theory, the puzzel pieces fitted together because the reality is there. And it is a long continuous complex emergent reality as Einstein pointed out, and a very persistent one, as is our curiosity to fathom more.
