We can play amortization costs all day. It was designed to be reliable and provide power with virtually 100% reliability which the "grid served" islands totally lack. (30 outages totaling over 14 days since 2000)

The Stuart home has a 24 KwHr battery with a design life of 20 years. That cost was built into the project.

The home down here on Three Tree Pt. has suffered over 11 days of outages since 2006. It will have battery back up too but with a larger PV array than Stuart it can be smaller.
