Corporations are "legal persons" in many respects. They are not the same as a person, and cannot be treated the same as a person in many respects. In others, they are.

Corporations can enter into contracts, just as a person can. Corporations can pay taxes, just as a person does. Yet, a corporation cannot have earned income as defined in the tax code. And a corporation cannot be imprisoned or executed (much to the dismay of many nutjobs).

The bottom line is that corporations are like people in some ways, are unlike people in others and that's that.
