<they spend more on the prisons than they do on education> That is true and is disturbing... big mistake, IMO, to allow private prison companies who by definition have profit motive to lobby for more and longer min. prison sentences -- hugely expensive to incarcerate non-violent people with a few grams of pot on them... force them to go to rehab instead and drug test them for 10-15 years that they would have spent in prison instead.
