No, dum dum, there was a special taxation directed at Jews (after the fall), this would certainly have an added impetus to help widen that gap between orthodox jews & the new proto-christian sect that was emerging. Also easier to find converts with relaxed strict religious laws being adopted, blow smoke all you want, there is reality is out there just beyond your grasp as usual.
