Wow, sorry to hear about all your problems. I too started the process in early October when I created an account on Healthcare.gov. Needless to say, I tried quite a few times to get through the application process without much luck, and I then just stopped trying as news items began appearing with various dates for fixing it. I was not too worried as long as I could hopefully get coverage by January 1st, 2014. I did talk with the first level of support for the website a couple of times, and they also referred me to something called the 'Advanced Resolution Center' for a couple problems with my online application. To make a long story short, in late November I wanted to start trying to go through the online process again. No luck, the application would get 'stuck' at various points. So, I asked to again speak with the ARC, at which point I was fortunate to speak with a very helpful and knowledgeable person that 'deleted' my online application and created a new one, reentering my data. Lo and behold, the application went through and he said I could choose a plan. At that point, I told him I wanted to look at them over the weekend on our state's Blue Cross website and then call back with a choice. I did so, called the website helpdesk again, they pulled up my application, and entered my plan choice. It went through, and within a couple days I began receiving email traffic from Blue Cross. Got a bill for the plan about two weeks ago, paid it, and received the plan cards today. There is still a problem with my online account in that the help desk can 'see' my plan online, but when I logon, I cannot. Not too worried about that for now as I have the insurance. You might want to ask for the 'first line of defense' to refer you to the ARC and see if they might be able to help you.
Good luck, John |
