Reagan not only set a precedent for deficits, he also set a precedent for Republicans to want NO new taxes.

Both of those statements are false. The precedent for deficits was already set, and there isn't any precedent for Republicans generally wanting no taxes, an overwhelming majority of Republicans support the existence of taxation.

and then put TWO wars on the national credit card.

Most of what was put "on the credit card" was extra social spending.
