John; I have no problem with Midicare nor do I with SS. So not much sense debating about that - other than a small minority most accept the programs. And I'm even willing to acknowledge that maybe we could find another better word than "debatable" - but to think health care will be a roaring success just because it is patterned after Medicare and SS is more wishful thinking on your part than established fact. We don't know how this plays out. They are absolutely NOT the same. The two social programs are based on complete participation - it is yet to be seen what the participation for Obamacare will be. BUT, clearly most will not be participants as they retain their existing insurance - such as I did. People are deciding if this is a good idea and if they should support Obamacare. I am, that's for sure. What those people decide could very well decide the next election - maybe elections for a long time. If people overwhelmingly vote against Obamacare - then you may win the battle as Obamacare will be hard to unravel completely and lose the war as we get led by republicans again. That is debatable John. It's what we are doing right here - you and I.

You can have the last word John, not much sense in stringing the conversation along. We can see how it plays out though. I hope it works, but I'm not very confident. Not when everyone argued that Obamacare wouldn't make rates go up because more people made the pool bigger and so then cost go down - THEN argue out of the other side of their mouth that of course rates are going up - when faced with that fact!! That I shouldn't be surprised my rates increased. That I am selfish because of course I should be happy my rates are going up to help those that didn't have insurance. Well that is NOT what these same people were arguing just a short couple of months ago.
