I am watching this discussed on News Hour right now. Here's an article I found on tests in animals. Looks very promising. I have a friend who had Stage 4 melanoma and was in a trial for Interferon and her cancer went into remission.

The small trials have been with melanoma, pancreatic cancer, leukemia and they've been able to augment the immune system and tweak the cells so they only go after the cancer cells and not attack all the cells in the body. They also discussed how the monies are drying up for this research in Washington. I hope we can get more federal funding for this. The big pharmas have not been involved in this. The sequester had a direct affect on their budget to further this research. I think we should let our congresspeople know that this is something we want to see funded. These studies are in the very early stages but they feel this is a very promising treatment to explore.

Having pancreatic cancer in my family, I know how difficult early diagnosis is and so this is welcome news.
