All CBs in the world believe that you're right. Folk need cash and it's the responsibility of the central bank to deliver it to them at whatever long term cost. Implicitly, they believe that since in the long run we are all dead, we might as well make it a little bit better for the poor folk who they think aren't protected from the cold hard reality of the world, like they are. Yet, inevitably the long run arrives with gross distortion created by the protected in order to ease the natural burden of the unprotected. Aren't we, the people? Can we not do it like our ancestors had to? Do we need to pay the protection money that we never then do see again? Intellect thinks so. Problem is, this whole smart program sends the poor folk to serfdom over the long run, and delivers nothing over the short but dismay.
