Low wage employment ends up saving US taxpayers billions a year, as these people get less aid then they would if they had no income.

Tim, that is just a silly argument. There are plenty on the Right who would do away with all aid. Like i-node. Subsidizing McDonalds, Walmart et al with tax dollars is just wrong.
