If you just want to count posts, then go to Yahoo, they have 1000s of posts per day trashing up discussion threads. SI is much more sophisticated and allows one to tailor and moderate a thread. The goal is not to have "x" number of posts per day but to broaden the users base and become a destination for people just wanting to read about an investment. People will first come to look well before they decide to join or post. If I'm an investor, what forum would I want to participate in? Yahoo w/no links,no charts, no moderation or SI? I think there's no comparison.

If a following is all you are looking for I know several investors that have started private email chat groups on Yahoo. SI is a unique forum and now that the worst offenders have left, a much nicer place to read and post ideas.
