These are old companies that are involved in an ancient technology called "television broadcasting". NBC is also part of GE, another 100 year old company which is now irrelevant. ABC is a part of Disney, which continues to sell old fashioned "live" entertainment.

Much like US Steel, all of these companies are no longer viable as investments because they currently earn billions in revenues and profits. Smart investors understand that it is foolish to pay for good track records. The only way to make money in this market is to pay big multiples for future earnings in the present. After all, as long as interest rates remain low, the market can only go higher...just like in Japan.

Yahoo, is the new global-internet-media land-grab leader and is competing head to head with all of these companies. Even though Yahoo now trades at a market cap of $3 billion (which is greater than US Steel's) on $50 million in sales, savvy investors are snapping up the stock because - unlike the short-selling cementheads - they see THE FUTURE.

I think Peter Futerko put it best when explaining just what an awesome value Yahoo is when he said,

"...earnings just have to catch up a little."

Makes you wonder why anyone would even bother investing in anything else.
