There keeping a very tight lid on gold. Both attempts on the hourly at a break through 1240 were knocked back down with the second attempt hammered back down instantly. You mentioned a close above the days high at 1238.50 being significant and that seems to be where the battle is right now. IMO gold wants to go higher but isn't being allowed. I am frankly quite surprised to see them allow 2 days in a row of more than 1% gains. Although the day is far from done.
