A more generalized description of nanotechnology was subsequently established by the National Nanotechnology Initiative, which defines nanotechnology as the manipulation of matter with at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers.

Do I need to bring up the sections of the SPD patents which describes typical SPD particle size as being 300 to 1000 nm?

Buckyballs, those odd little molecules with 60 carbon atoms which definitely do not occur in nature, those are a basic example of nanotechnology. SPD, not so much.
