I happen to agree with that 100%. The Republican's of today are too dangerous to hold the presidency.They are simply too out of touch with reality to be in control of government. What did we gain from Iraq? Nothing at all. Why? Because their real aim was to steal the oil (Greenspan), but it didn't work out like they expected. Because they live in a fantasy world and that is dangerous in the nuclear era. They didn't even investigate the invasion enough to differentiate between Sunni and Shia and what that meant. What it meant was the tribal civil war they set in place when they invaded and took the power from the Sunni and gave it to the Shia, and we are now seeing in it spades. I predicted this a decade ago, it was so clear to see. They took the power away from the Sunni who had been torturing the Shia for decades. When the Shia took power they instituted reprisal which is why the Sunni cooperated with Petraeus' surge). It was to avoid the Shia death squads. Two million Sunni have had to leave Iraq. Sunni and Shia have moved back to tribal areas. for protection. Today the Sunni (backed by the Saudi's and all the Sunni in the ME) are fighting a civil war with the Shia (backed by Iran (Shia) in Iraq for control of the country. It was a fait accompli the day Bush invaded Iraq! They gave it away (their intentions) when they said those who did not join the coalition of the willing would not join in the "spoils". It was an old time blatant attempt to conquer another country for their gold (oil). They picked Iraq because it was a safe country to invade, like Afghanistan was. Somalia would have been safe too, but no spoils of war. The response to 9/11 should have been a simple police action. Set the SEALS and Rangers out to kill them all and stop when it was done. What the Israli's would have done. they were just 19 crazy people. Not a country. But Bush/Cheney used 9/11 as cover for the criminal activities. It was so clear to anyone who was looking, that bush used 9/11 to cover his and the neo cons blatant criminal behavior. And what is the most scary is how none of the conservatives on this thread seem to understand what really happened! It is also why it makes me sick to see Clinton and Obama sucking up to him!
