You almost sound like a Democrat on the corporate welfare and farm aid thing.

Hardly. Sure many Republicans support such things, but so do most Democrats (at least elected Democrats in high office). On the non-farm parts, and in recent years Democrats have supported them far more than Republicans have. Solandra, all sorts of other "green" subsidies tax breaks and advantageous legislation (like forcing electrical companies to buy surplus electricity from "alternate" generators at the normal retail price), the bailout of the car companies, etc.
