"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush and his top aides publicly made 935 false statements about the security risk posed by Iraq in the two years following September 11, 2001, according to a study released Tuesday by two nonprofit journalism groups."

The Bushies seemed to have their eye on history. While he conned us into invading Iraq, Bush never directly claimed Saddam had anything to do with it. Some others did, like Cheney. What his speechwriters did was have him rail against the perpetrators of 9/11, the horrible evil of Osama bin Laden, then, without skipping a beat, start talking about Iraq and Saddam Hussein.

To the point where at one point 70% of Americans wrongly believed that Saddam was involved in 9/11 - that's why we invaded, right?

I was never one of them, but I smelled it coming.
